About Guy Olivieri

Guy Olivieri is an artist, illustrator, and writer. This website showcases Guy's diverse range of artwork, from intricate illustrations to thoughtful designs. The portfolio reflects Guy's unique style, humor, and creative vision, offering a glimpse into his world.

Uniquely, Guy was a former forensic crime scene detective and is currently the only crime scene expert in the world who writes and illustrates for kids. He is an active member of esteemed organizations such as the New Jersey Homicide Investigators Association, the International Association of Identification Detectives, the New Jersey Association of Forensic Scientists, and the prestigious Harvard Associates of Police Science. These associations have allowed him to learn from some of the foremost minds in forensic science, including the renowned Dr. Henry C. Lee and forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden. His academic journey in Forensic Entomology began at Penn State and was complemented by further studies in various forensic disciplines at Monmouth, Princeton, and Louisiana State Universities.

Over the years, Guy has generously shared his wealth of knowledge as a trusted consultant for numerous authors in the Crime/Mystery genre, lending his expertise to enhance the authenticity of their works. He also enjoys being a guest teacher of Forensics and Forensic Entomology. His whimsical and straightforward approach to police science has made him a sought-after favorite among kids of all ages. His knowledge of forensics and his creative storytelling skills make him one-of-a-kind in the industry.

 He was a finalist in Cartoon Network/Hanna Barbera's National Storyboard Contest, a finalist in the National Brandiose Logo Contest, and a winner of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators  Members  Choice Award.

​

He is currently a consultant to writers of the Crime/Mystery genre and is working on a hilarious new Middle-Grade graphic novel titled C.S.I. - Crime Scene Insects.
